About Kyla
Hi! My name is Kyla, and I’m available for tutoring French, English, and music theory in the DMV area and online. I have 6+ years of various teaching and tutoring experience, including: tutoring college students in French and music theory, helping with course assignments and studying, tutoring English as a Second Language (ESL) one-on-one from children aged 4+ to adults, teaching ESL in the elementary school classroom, leading ESL clubs, and giving online and in-person lessons. I have been speaking French for 13+ years and have lived in francophone countries for 3 years. My bachelor’s degree is in French and Music, and I hold a Master’s degree with an emphasis on French for professional purposes.

I have a passion for getting to know each individual’s learning style and goals, and individualizing my tutoring approach to meet their needs. I offer personalized methods that cater to your goals, whether that be homework help, conversational sessions to practice the language, beginner sessions on vocabulary and grammar, fun games and other ways to practice the language, and more.
Lessons open to all ages and levels of French, ESL, and music theory. My tutoring format is flexible: I’m available to meet online or in-person, at a library or public place in the DMV, or at your residence. Sessions starting at $35/hour. CV available upon request.
