About Justine
Hi! My name’s Justine, I’m a native French speaker and I started tutoring when I moved to London in 2015. Having learned other languages myself (English as child and Spanish as a teenage/young adult), I know how it can feel simultaneously exciting and scary. My approach is definitely to help you feel at ease from the very beginning, and to tailor lessons to each individual student. In doing so, I hope to make learning a new language feel very much like an attainable goal. My experience (both as a student and as a teacher) has shown me that conversation is by far the most effective method, which is why I try to include at least a little bit of it into each lesson (if you’re comfortable with it, of course!)

I always try to adapt to students’ needs and priorities. I’ve taught people who were learning for all kinds of reasons, from school/work to travel to being able to converse with in-laws, etc. My primary focus is on helping people feel more comfortable when speaking French, though lessons can (and often do) include grammar and writing exercises. I mostly teach adults, but can teach kids provided they have at least some basic knowledge of the language OR are able to read in English.
