About Ben

I’m a practicing lawyer. My passion for tutoring has come from the satisfaction of having reviewed the work of more junior solicitors. Seeing their legal skills improve and having a hand in it has become a source of pride and appreciation. I like to surf and spend time with family outside of work.

About the lesson

I take a student and task driven approach to tutoring. Your current understanding of a topic and the task you wish to complete (e.g. assignment, tutorial questions, exam study, etc.) will inform the most effective approach to any tutoring session.

I am a friendly tutor and take great satisfaction in assisting you in achieving academic success.

I can help you with:

- proofing and editing assignments to elevate your marks (please note that I review your assignment material and drafts prior to meeting with you);
- assistance in exam preparation;
- understanding tutorial questions and improving tutorial participation quality and greatly improved overall understanding; and
- AGLC referencing.

Whilst I have kept some templates from university, I have extensive experience and mainly focus on the law concerning contracts, civil procedure (the Uniform Civil Procedure Rules 1999 (Qld)) and the Australian Consumer Law. I have built and maintained lengthy notes on those topics from Cheshire and Fifoot’s Law of Contract and years of practice.

As a result, I am well placed to tutor in those areas.

Typically available on weekends.

This tutoring is suited to LLB and JD students.

Please note: The initial free consultation is for me to get to know your needs and how I can best support you. If you would like specific help during our first session (for example, assisting with an assignment, or creating notes, or researching), then my usual rate will apply.

No adjustment to fees shall be made for time due to late arrival by the student or by early termination of session by the student. Any lost time due to the late arrival of the tutor shall be compensated by extending a lesson by mutual agreement and by such amount of time that was lost. The tutor agrees to wait thirty minutes from the time of the scheduled session for the student's arrival before considering that session canceled
