About Sophie
As a beginner in learning, especially a new language, it is always okay to be slow. The most important thing is the spirit and passion. I deeply believe in 'Practice makes perfect', so my teaching approach is to be diligent in doing practices and be bold to speak up. Although I am pretty strict in teaching and setting deadlines, I love to joke around and give rewards if students have achieved what they should have based on their abilities. Every student possesses different potentials and I believe every student can accomplish anything as long as they put in effort.

Being born in Malaysia, we are required to learn 3 different languages, which are English, Mandarin and Malay since kindergarden. Because of that, I can basically travel around Asia with no obstacles at all. With the increase population of people learning and speaking Mandarin, I think it is very important for kids nowadays to learn to comprehend it. Based on my experience and knowledge, to learn a completely new language, of course the younger the better, a student is better off instilled in a environment where Mandarin is often used and seen.
