About India
My name is India and I currently live in South London. I have been teaching in some form or another since I was an undergraduate English Language and Literature student at University College London (2011-2014).
From 2014-2019, I taught EFL at a college in Oxford, where I developed particular interest in creative, responsive and personalised lesson and curriculum design.
In 2019, I started my PGCE in Secondary English at the University of Oxford, which involved an "internship" placement in a mainstream school, and graduated the following year. My dissertations focused on: literacy and reading engagement in teenage boys; exclusion and alternative provision; and the use of discussion, creativity and autonomy in raising student engagement.
From 2021-2025, I taught English, PSHE and Prince's (now King's Trust) certificate awards at an SEN/SEMH alternative provision. Here, I gained further experience of 1:1, 2:1 and small-group settings, and was able to put my research into practice. I achieved consistently high exam results across a wide range of pupils through positive relationships, creative, interesting and relevant lesson planning, and highly personalised learning.

I worked with India at Oxford International for 2 years teaching English as a Second Language. She is a talented, professional and caring teacher who delivers structured, purposeful lessons with clear instructions and explanations and was popular with her students. I worked closely with her and would recommend her strongly as a teacher to anyone.
I have seen India's work with many students and have worked with hundreds of teachers in my time. India cares, she is brilliantly intelligent, she adapts incredibly well to individual needs and is one of the most diligent and thoughtful professionals I know.
I worked with India for years in Oxford seeing first-hand her talent and capabilities. I highly recommend choosing India as a teacher and mentor - she’s a knowledgable and effective teacher who loves helping students to get measurably better at English.
I had the pleasure of working alongside India for four years in a secondary special school. Our students, many of whom had faced significant challenges throughout their educational journeys, were truly fortunate to have a teacher like India supporting them.
Despite the various barriers our students experienced—including gaps in learning, SEN and SEMH needs—India’s determination, resilience and unwavering commitment enabled them to achieve the grades necessary to progress to college and other positive pathways. She consistently demonstrated the ability not only to engage students effectively in their learning, but also to establish strong boundaries and clear expectations.
India is nurturing, dedicated, and takes the time to genuinely understand her students and tailor her teaching to meet their individual needs. Her skills, professionalism and impact are evident in the outcomes her students achieve.
I would work with India again without hesitation. She is truly one of a kind, and any school would be fortunate to have her.India was my teacher for 3 years and has continued to be a great role model for me she is a great teacher and very supportive
India is one of my teachers from secondary. She is really lovely and patient. I don’t have a single bad thing to say about her she’s honestly great. She is the reason I passed my English GCSE, best english teacher I’ve come across during my education.
I highly recommend India as an English tutor. She is patient, reliable, and has a natural ability to explain ideas in a clear and engaging way. India creates a supportive learning environment that helps students feel confident and motivated to improve. Her dedication and positive attitude make her an excellent choice for anyone looking for a knowledgeable and encouraging tutor.
