About Varvara
I'm Varvara, a first-year Law student at University College London, where I secured my place with A*A*A* in English Literature, History and Geography. I know what it takes to reach the highest academic standard — and I know how to help others get there.
I specialise in English Literature, essay writing, critical thinking, university entrance preparation and proofreading. My approach is structured and personalised: I take time to understand each student's goals before building a clear plan to meet them. I work with GCSE and A-Level students, as well as those preparing applications to competitive universities.

My approach is tailored to each student's individual needs and goals. I begin every new student relationship by assessing their current level, identifying gaps, and building a structured plan around their specific targets — whether that's an upcoming exam, a university application, or simply improving their writing.
Techniques & methodology
I focus on close reading, structured argumentation, and developing an original academic voice. For essay writing, I use a drafting and feedback method — students write, I annotate and explain, we refine together. For critical thinking, I use Socratic questioning to push deeper analysis rather than surface-level responses.
Lesson length
Lessons typically run 60 minutes, though 90-minute sessions are available for more intensive exam or application preparation.
Qualifications & experience
I am a first-year Law student at UCL with A\*A\*A\* in English Literature, History and Geography. I have hands-on experience tutoring Russian, developing bespoke curricula, and professional experience in legal drafting and academic writing. I was runner-up in an internal essay competition and recipient of a History award at Holland Park School.
