About Tish
I am a friendly and understanding UCL student currently studying for a BSc in Global Humanitarian Studies. I genuinely enjoy teaching and helping students find the fun in truly understanding what they learn at school, rather than just memorising information for exams. Having studied A-Levels in Psychology, History, and Philosophy, alongside my background as an English tutor, I’m particularly passionate about essay writing, creative writing, comprehension, and poetry analysis. I’ve always loved English and naturally gravitated towards humanities-based subjects growing up — reading, writing, and all things literature have always been my favourite things to explore and share with others.

My lessons are focused on more than just providing resources to help students perform better in exams or school. I aim to create an environment where students truly understand the concepts they are learning, rather than just memorising them for short-term success. I believe that real learning happens when students can engage with ideas deeply and apply them beyond the classroom — this approach not only builds confidence but also allows knowledge to stay with them in the long term.
