About Annika
Annika Karody is a musician, writer, actor, and teaching artist based in New York City. She previously worked as an editorial assistant at Penguin Random House, where she edited titles such as Rio Cortez's National Book Award-nominated poetry collection "Golden Ax," Barbie Latza Nadeau's long-form journalistic work "The Godmother," and Tim Murphy's novel, "Speech Team." She graduated magna cum laude from UCLA in December 2019 with a B.S. in Human Biology and Society, and a minor in English. She is currently an afterschool tutor and poetry workshop facilitator at Life is Precious: a suicide prevention program for Latina Teens. She has also facilitated writing workshops with Poets House, The Poetry Society of New York, and NYC-DSA. In her free time, you can find her writing, acting, playing music around the city, and just plain old hanging out.
