About Nicola
I am an interdisciplinary creative; I draw, paint, sing, write and perform. In all these ways and more, I am a storyteller. The kind of story I specialize in is the one with a sharp bite and a strong point of view. I encourage my students to take ownership of their voices, and to always punch up. Welcome to the most fun you'll ever have, and the most excruciating pain you'll ever experience - ah, the joys of being a writer! Come prepared with pen and paper, and a sense of humor.

In our writing classes, we will explore the tried-and-true methods of breaking and building a story; for essay writers, we will adapt this approach for arguing a point or building a well-rounded discursive text. All writing should be engaging, and thought-provoking. My role as facilitator will be in raising questions that prompt critical thinking, so that my students can engage with their subject matter in novel ways and produce satisfying bodies of work.
