About Emily

I’m Emily, I’m 22, and I’m currently at university.

I’ve coached gymnastics for around five years, and I’ve helped my siblings with their school work plenty of times (they are now 12 and 8). I love teaching, which sounds very generic, but I find it very rewarding to help someone finally put that last piece in the jigsaw.

I was lucky to find academic life relatively easy, but I understand that is not the same for everyone. I want to be able to help people get equal opportunities, and boost their confidence. Whilst I’m here to help you academically, I also find it very important to let people know that they are way more than what their grades say. Your value as a human is not decided by an exam result. Essentially, I want to help you succeed both at school and with your mental wellbeing.

When I’m not coaching gymnastics, I like to play my piano, read my book, or play on my xbox. I have two dogs at home when I’m not at university, and I love them very much.

I am very accepting, I’ve seen people from all walks of life. I do not judge anyone for anything, and I believe everyone has the right to be whoever they feel they are. I want you to feel safe, accepted, encouraged, and empowered.

About the lesson

I myself have ADHD, and I’ve worked with a lot of people with a diverse range of needs. I understand that not everyone is the same, and everyone learns in their own way. My teaching style is the way you learn best- you lead the sessions, I’m just there to teach.

I understand education can be stressful for some, and so I never put too much pressure on. I want to make it a friendly atmosphere. I don’t learn if I feel forced, so I wouldn’t expect anyone else to either.
