About Ashlyn

Nice to meet you, I'm Ashlyn and I would love to help you learn guitar! I have a very strong understanding of technique and concepts with a passion for helping others pick up quick. Whether you are a beginner, or have been playing for years, I know I can give you the push you need to succeed. I am a Berklee College of Music undergraduate student, and while I am still a student myself, I have been playing guitar for many years and have my own music out in the world. My musical background is mostly with rock and metal so I love to play heavy and fast.

About the lesson

These lessons are for anyone from beginner to those who have hit a wall with their progress. I can help you learn new concepts, connect ones you may already know or cover anything you want to learn.

First, we get to know where you want to go with your guitar. Once we figure out what you want to learn, the lesson will start immediately.

The first part of the lesson will be going over any previously assigned exercise. After that, we will begin with technique and theory; depending on the level and goals of the student.

I'm a tutor that really likes the "why" behind why we do things. When you learn to understand the cause and effect of what we are doing, you will learn many times faster than memorizing.

Deadly! Ashlyn is an incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, and skilled teacher. After trying to learn theory for years through YouTube, books, etc. to no real avail; her lessons have finally helped it make more sense in just a couple months.
Also, I’m noticing improvements in my technique and speed already. I’m having much more fun learning guitar with her than the past 5 years of haphazardly trying to teach myself. Can’t recommend Ashlyn enough!
