About Evie

Hi, I'm Evie! I'm an undergraduate Media Studies student at Loughborough University, with a passion for the subject and a clear ambition to build a career in the media industry.

I achieved an A* in A Level Media Studies, so I know first-hand what it takes to reach the top grade. But my experience doesn't stop there, I have also put my knowledge into practice by tutoring my brother through his GCSE Media Studies, helping him achieve a grade 9, the highest mark possible.

I believe that a tutor who has recently been through the same exams as their student has a unique advantage. I remember exactly what it feels like to sit in that classroom, and I know the areas that trip students up the most. I combine that insight with a friendly, professional approach to make sure every student feels supported, motivated and ready to succeed.

Whether you are just starting your A Level journey or looking for a confidence boost ahead of your exams, I am here to help you reach your potential.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed for A Level Media Studies students (typically aged 16–18) who want to build confidence, deepen their understanding, and achieve the best grade possible.

I tailor every session to the individual student, whether that means working through exam technique and mark schemes in a structured way, or having a more relaxed discussion-based conversation to unpick tricky media theory and set texts. I find that a mix of both approaches keeps lessons engaging and gets the best results.

Typical sessions cover:
• Breaking down exam questions and practising timed responses
• Analysing set texts and applying media language and theory
• Coursework planning, drafting and feedback
• Filling in gaps in knowledge and building a strong revision toolkit

Lesson length is flexible and tailored to your needs. Whether you prefer shorter, focused sessions or longer deep-dive lessons, we can find what works best for you.

Having achieved an A* at A Level Media Studies myself, and currently studying at Loughborough University, I bring both recent exam experience and genuine enthusiasm for the subject to every lesson.
