About Beatriz
I have several years of experience working in tutoring and with children! This past semester I have been teaching at PS 163 as an assistant teacher in a Dual-Language (Spanish and English) kindergarten class, so I am very comfortable working with people who have English as their second language. Throughout high school I worked as an editor for the Journalism Club and I currently intern at the journal Cagibi, where I read over submitted works and comment on both their assets and their faults. I am a writer myself, and I am familiar with all forms of workshop, so I am happy to provide services (editing and feedback-wise) for creative and personal work as well as academic assignments.

As a tutor, I seek to broaden the knowledge of my students by ensuring that they continue to take in their English readings and writings in their own unique ways. I value original interpretations of creative works (literature, poetry, etc.). A typical lesson would include my assistance on English homework assignments, completing all necessary tasks. Additionally, as I am very passionate about each individual making their own meaning about their English work, time would be spent expanding critical thinking skills in order to boost analysis and comprehension levels. I am comfortable with working with grades from kindergarten up to college underclassmen.
