About James
Currently pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science at Columbia University, I am entering my third year maintaining a 3.95 GPA with an avid interest in the sciences. I graduated from the International School of Manila from the IB Diploma Program with a cumulative total of 43/45 points. I scored in the 98% percentile of the ACT Test with Writing, and the SAT Subject Tests in the areas Physics and Mathematics II. As a Canadian born and raised in the Philippines, I have a particular cultural fluency that allows me to work easily with students for whom English is not their first language. My efforts began in a social outreach program called CovED, where I provided over 40+ hours of free tutoring services to students whose learning was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. I supplied free learning materials eg. worksheets, slides, and textbooks, and have been honing my teaching and communicating skills since. I cannot wait to apply them to exploring the wonders of science, math, or English, etc. as I learn alongside all of you!

I employ a hands-on approach to tutoring Mathematics and various other STEM subjects, which are by nature best learned practically and through solving-problems and making mistakes!
