About Megan
Hiya, my name is Megan and I am currently studying Modern Languages and Cultures at Durham University, specialising in German and Russian. I have always had a passion for English Literature and German, and tutoring these subjects has not only allowed me to share these passions with other people, but also widen my knowledge. My tutoring sessions are never formal, and I always like to make lessons light-hearted as no-one likes to be in a rigid environment!

After achieving AB for English and German at A-Level, as well as high grades during my GCSEs, I am well acquainted with both courses. During my A-Levels I tutored several GCSE and year 12 students in both English and German, focusing on essay structures, how to analyse and useful advanced language to make essays more sophisticated. My usual learning approach in English is to analyse a text with a student, making sure they have a clear understanding, then focusing on how to form an essay. I will then go through any essays that they have written, and determine their weak points. In German, I focus mainly on grammar and vocabulary, as well as developing their spoken language.

Deadly! Megan is a wonderful English teacher! My son really enjoys her lessons — they are always friendly, engaging, and easy to understand. She explains difficult things in a simple way and keeps him genuinely interested in learning English. In a short time, I’ve already seen real progress and growing confidence.
