About Joseph
I am an undergraduate student, studying History at Sidney Sussex College, University of Cambridge. My passion is history but I have a love for many areas of academia which fuels my love of teaching, as well as my desire to inspire a similar passion in others.
I have mentored and tutored on a volunteer level for many years, including at my school and college. I have also helped a number of colleagues and younger students with successful Oxbridge applications, having benefited from one of the best-performing state sixth forms for Oxbridge offers in the UK (and the best in the north-west).
My time at Cambridge has imbued me with a professionalism and rigour that I am eager to pass on to my students. It has also given me insights into a unique style of one-to-one teaching which I hope to reflect in my tutor sessions.

My teaching style is highly personal and strikes the right balance between informal and efficient. I'm a believer that interaction is the fundamental pillar of learning, so always ask my students questions and encourage them to ask me questions of their own. This not only deepens understanding but encourages students to value their own learning.
History, Politics and French lessons are approx. 1-1.5 hours but for more intensive Oxbridge interview preparation, sessions are more usually 30 mins to replicate the actual process.
My lessons are aimed at GCSE and A-Level students of all abilities. Oxbridge preparation is aimed at applicants or prospective applicants of all backgrounds - I come from an underrepresented part of the country so am well versed in the strategies needed to get ahead.
