About Kenza
Bonjour!
My name is Kenza and I am doing an English degree at Durham University.
I was born in France and spent most of my life in Belgium and Switzerland. I have tutored non-native speakers and native speakers in French and literature. I mostly specialise in teaching GCSE, A-level and Pre U French.
From the beginning, I will ask a student what they want to achieve (so if the student wishes to be able to speak completely fluently I will focus longer on the sounds of the language) and tailor my lessons according to what they want.
French is my mother tongue but I know it's a very hard language! I am here to make the idea of it less daunting and to help in any way I can.

My approaches differ on what level I am teaching.
I usually begin with an introductory session where the student and I find the problematic areas that we will need to discuss. I then write out a rough tutoring plan with the student depending on their needs.
I teach anywhere between 1-3 hours. I find that four hours is often too much for the student and keep longer sessions for when the student is approaching exam time.
All in all, the basis of my approach is to make the student comfortable. Often students are daunted by the idea of being perceived as 'stupid' or making a mistake, which is often their greatest inhibitor.
