About Claudia

I graduated from university in 2022 and found myself in a bit of a rut, entering the professional world and not giving enough time to learning and furthering my knowledge of the world.
I want to teach as an opportunity to work with students to learn more about English literature and Philosophy, and in that adventure also gain some more understanding of these subjects.
With Philosophy, I am deeply interested in this subject; I love debate and discussion and I feel that this subject is a prime opportunity to engage in this.
Further, I adore reading and so teaching English lit will give me a chance to dig into lots of different books and take a critical stance to looking at these texts.
I have always enjoyed teaching young people, I find that it comes naturally to me and I look forward to continuing my career as an educator.

About the lesson

Fundamentally, I believe that learning should be enjoyable and inspirational, and so my teaching will allow an opportunity for wider discussion and debate to encourage an engaging learning environment.

With a strong background in education as a sailing instructor for over eight years, both on the water and in a classroom, I understand that different students require different approaches to learning.

The layout of my lessons will be a reflection of the type of learner I am working with, discovering the way that they work most effectively. There will be a focus on essay writing and exam practice, as well as interactive and accessible ways for teaching concepts and theories.
