About Adam
I am a First Class English graduate from the University of Cambridge who specialises in tutoring 11 plus, GCSE, A level and Oxbridge entrance prep. As well as having three years of English tutoring experience, I have been working as a teaching assistant in a joint primary and secondary school for the past year. Here, I host 1:1 teaching interventions in Maths and English for year 6s and small English classes for GCSE students. I have a thorough knowledge of most set texts at GCSE and A-level thanks to both my teaching experience and academic background. I am DBS checked and have extensive experience working with children with a range of SEN.

I generally teach 1 hour sessions, tailored around a student's individual needs and desired areas of improvement. For English lessons, this can range from focusing on aspects of a student's set text that they are struggling with to certain grammatical issues and literary techniques they are finding difficult to grasp. Often, the lessons take the form of a collaborative comprehension, where we will go through, discuss, and analyse texts together, looking to highlight key features in line with those outlined in the mark scheme. I have previously tutored a number of students at both A-level and GCSE, with the students receiving improved marks in all cases so far. I tutor all aspects of 11-plus including VR and non-VR, using a similar method and by meticulously going through past examination papers with students.
