About Jeanette
I am an Australian born woman and have been working as a tutor/lecturer at Charles Sturt University since 2013. My area of study is Health Sciences and Sociology. Many of my students have low literacy skills or come from a non-English-speaking background, so I spend a lot of time supporting my students with their writing skills. In addition, I provide specific academic writing and researching advice to students with good general language skills. I also have extensive experience in tutoring individual students for the HSC or primary and secondary classes, both as a private tutor and for the company Excell Coaching.
I feel I would be able to offer good guidance on English speaking and writing to people of any age. I am currently tutoring university students, both young and mature-aged. I also like working with children and have previously worked in Family and Children’s Services and After School Care. In community service roles, I regularly provided homework support for children aged 5-12 years. I am sure I can create fun and educational opportunities for children to learn and practice English.

My current teaching method is online lectures and adobe chat sessions. I also have an interactive forum in which students can post questions and respond to each other as well as connect with me. I provide practice materials and invite students to post drafts of their assessment items for feedback before final submission. I always provide exemplars of high quality to demonstrate what I am looking for in the assessment tasks.
In the past I have also provided face to face lecturing/tutoring for university classes and individual tutoring for HSC and other school students. I am keen to extend this to one-on-one video tutorials.
