About Pollyanna
I am a BSc Psychology student at the University of Leeds, and I have always had an extremely strong passion for psychology and helping others succeed academically. I am particularly interested in becoming a psychology teacher in the future, so tutoring gives me the perfect opportunity to share my enthusiasm for the subject and develop my teaching skills alongside.
I have always taken pride in being a part of someone else's journey to achieve their goals as I am a highly motivated and goal-oriented person myself. That could be helping students understand difficult topics, improving their confidence or producing achievements to be proud of. I want my students to feel encouraged and supported throughout their learning experience in a positive and comfortable learning environment.

I take a friendly and supportive approach to tutoring, personalising each lesson to the individual's needs, confidence and learning style. I aim to make psychology just as engaging and enjoyable for my students as I find it myself. I ensure that I can make psychology more understandable by breaking down complex theories into clearer explanations through using real-life examples, visual aids and active recall techniques.
Lessons will also focus on exam preparation, including essay structure, applying psychological theory to questions, timing practice and various effective revision techniques. I encourage students to feel comfortable asking any questions and actively participate and take pride in their work.
As a BSc Psychology student at the University of Leeds, I feel I have a strong understanding of the subject and take genuine enjoyment in helping others in their goals and improving their confidence.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-level psychology students, whereby I will tailor the pace and content of lessons individually to the student's preferences.
Lessons are typically 1 hour long, although this can be adapted dependent on the student's needs.
