About Anthony
It is my hope that after studying with me, my students will feel empowered with increased self-awareness and an insight into the world around them. As informed citizens of the world the skills they take away from the study of humanities will serve them well in whichever endeavors they may pursue. Skills that will enable them to "To earn a living and live a cultured life not as two processes, but as one."

As an educator I understand that students under my aegis are not only studying humanities but are expanding their perceptions of themselves and their place in the world. Accordingly my teaching philosophy takes account of the fact that far from a mere recitation of dates or facts, my goal is to awaken in students an intellectual curiosity for the world around them. As a science that very literally touches upon all fields of learning, the study of humanities requires a vast armamentarium of skills which, at first, may appear daunting to undergraduates. It is my job to foster, encourage, inspire, and--at times--become task master guiding students to develop and expand their reading, comprehension, composition, and critical reasoning abilities in the understanding and evaluation of historical phenomena.
