About Madeleine
I have been tutoring privately in person for 6 months alongside my degree course in Exeter.
I am a second-year student at the University of Exeter offering great value tutoring sessions up to GCSE in Maths and English. I am currently living at home for the summer and looking to tutor locally. I am registered with tutorful while tutoring in Exeter but am unable to hold two locations through the site. I hold a valid DBS certificate and am currently undertaking my TEFL examinations.
I am hoping to tutor students up to GCSE level, in a variety of subjects. As well as subject matter the part of GCSE’s that most students seem to struggle with is the structure of answering both essay and exam questions. This focuses not only on the structure of the essay as a whole but can be broken down into paragraph structure and sentence order. As someone who struggled with this at GCSE myself, I have been taught and found many ways to work on this.
My education included 5 years of state primary school and 2 years of the sixth form with an incredible stint at Michael Hall, a Steiner Waldorf school. I feel that this varied education helps me to approach tutoring in perhaps a different way, trying out different revision and learning methods to really adapt to someone’s style.
