About Chloe

I have travelled, south east Asia and Indonesia.
I lived in Vietnam for one year.
I hiked the three highest peaks in England for charity!

Whilst teaching in Vietnam, I tried to implement creative learning activities to foreign students.
For example I tried to advocate a practical approach to learning;
I wanted to teach the words sour and sweet, so I created two teams and asked them to line up. The first students at the front of the 2 lines would have been blindfolded and asked to come forward. I and my teaching assistant had been holding a food product each. I had lemon juice with a spoon and my assistant had strawberry jam with a spoon and we had the students try to products and say the words. This also improved there lexical skills. Before I proceeded, I checked with the students parents if anyone was allergic to anything for health and safety reasons.

About the lesson

I have attached my CV for your consideration. As you will see, I hold a First Aid certificate, DBS check and have completed a 120 Hour TEFL course. Moreover, I have a foundation year degree in Fashion buying and I am currently completing an undergraduate degree in Psychology.
I have a real desire to help and make the lives of others as fun as possible.
This year, I lived in Vietnam, teaching English. I have taught from the ages of 12 months – 30 years old. As a nursery teacher in Vietnam I developed my classroom management skills and knowledge of being an effective mentor. During my time, I strived to implement skills such as sharing and cooperation, through specific learning activities. As I'm sure you can appreciate this is not easily attained, for an excited 3 year old. Over the year, I've held hands, wiped tears and taught pre-schoolers everything they needed to know from the alphabet to the colours of the rainbow. I tried to make a point of advocating skills such as gratitude and courtesy.
Whilst teaching older students, I focused on a variety of different skills like grammar, speaking, listening and writing. I created lesson plans that would focus on improving their vocabulary and pronunciation so that it would further improve their lexical skills. I enjoyed creating exciting and engaging lessons to motivate my students and help them to learn effectively.
Furthermore, I have also had experience teaching a six year old boy English as a private tutor, where he had particular learning difficulties, as well as volunteering in a further education college.
I am a patient and enthusiastic individual with the drive to develop my skills and knowledge to the best of my abilities.
