About Chloe

I am currently studying a combined Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Business (Accounting)/Bachelor of Philosophy at the University of Tasmania. I work part-time as a Learn to Swim Instructor, and I love my job!

In my spare time, I like going on hiking adventures in beautiful Tasmania and swimming.

I am an empathetic, patient person and would love the opportunity to share my passion for the German language and German-speaking countries with more students!

About the lesson

I have excellent skills in written and spoken German as a result of my attending school in Germany and Switzerland for a number of years. I have a number of Goethe Institut internationally recognised qualifications (highest B2 level) and achieved the highest possible score, as well as the top student in Tasmania for TASC Level 3 German in 2019. I am currently completing German Advanced studies through Macquarie University and have previously studied German at the University of Tasmania (second year), in which I received a 91% grade average.

I am able to tailor the lessons and my teaching to the student. I can structure lessons and prepare a syllabus, help with revision and homework, and support during examination preparation. Currently, I am preparing students for A2 and B1 Goethe Institut examinations and TASC examinations. I am also able to provide the student with exercises and practice work to do between lessons, and mark this work and provide feedback.

I am happy to teach people of all ages at beginner/intermediate levels.

I focus on a variety of language skills (writing, speaking, listening, and reading) and ensure that the student feels comfortable communicating with all of these skills. I place strong importance on learning German grammar correctly at the beginning of one's language journey so as to avoid future difficulties.

The typical lesson length is currently 60-90 minutes once per week. However, this can be altered to suit the needs of the student.

I hold a current WWVP check, First Aid Certificate, and drivers' licence.

Please note, this hourly rate is teaching time only. You are not charged for the time that it takes me to prepare lessons, prepare homework, mark work, or organise examinations. I am available 7 days a week to answer questions, provide feedback etc.
