About Grace
My name is Grace and I am currently studying to obtain a Bachelor of Human Nutrition with LaTrobe University.
I started tutoring in high school before I really found my love for it last year when I started tutoring multiple students on a regular basis. My most favourite thing about tutoring is when a student has that light bulb moment and you can see their pride as they finally understand a challenging concept.
I also have published my own cookbook so have experience in publishing!

I am someone who has always loved the freedom of creative writing, the rigid and structured nature of essay writing, and the variety of skills that oral presentations give. When working with students in English my first priority is to help them understand the basics. What are literary devices? How do we structure an essay? What does it mean to give an engaging presentation? With solid foundations to base all work off, this then allows us the opportunity to see how we can artist and use these skills in different ways. I tailor my approach to the individual student as I understand that some work visually, some work best with repetition, and some like to hear the difference. With this in mind, we aim to unpack a variety of areas to help students be well equipped for life in school, their exams, and even life beyond school, as I believe English is one of the most practical subjects.
As someone who played sport at an elite level while in school myself, I do also recognise that life is full of many priorities and that school work needs to be balanced with these. Due to this, I take the time to help students learn how to effectively prioritise their work so they can stay on top (or ahead) in terms of their school work, while not sacrificing other aspects of life.
I typically suggest an hour on a weekly basis for English, to allow the student time to work through any tasks between sessions, while still having the opportunity to continue building skills each week.
I look forward to working with every new student to make English something that is enjoyable, full of a sense of achievement, and less daunting. I am keen to tutor all ages of students, at all ability levels. I have experience tutoring primary to year 12 English.
