About Sophia

Hello! My name is Sophia and I am a student at the University of Toronto who is pleased to offer you online French tutoring services. I attended a French immersion elementary school and have taken advanced French courses at the high school and University level under the instruction of francophone teachers. I find joy in sharing my skills with other ambitious children and individuals, which is why I aspire to become a teacher. As your tutor, I will make sure to work at a comfortable pace and construct personalized lesson plans to meet your language needs. Whether you are just a beginner or a fluent speaker, whether you want to improve your oral communication or you need help writing an eloquent essay, I'm here to make sure you excel in your academic or personal endeavors. I prioritize my students' well-being, which is why I place my focus on building a strong connection founded on trust, respect and compassion in my lessons. I look forward to meeting you soon!

About the lesson

My lessons are personalized to fit your learning style, comfort level, and language needs. If you are a student, I will typically rely on curriculum standards of your country to plan my lessons, or help you with assignments, homework, and areas of difficulty. If you are an individual who simply wants to learn French, then you are free to take a self-directed approach to our sessions! I think an effective language lesson combines all aspects of communication, which is why I incorporate oral, written, and listening/audio comprehension and expression into my tutoring lessons. I specialize in teaching children and youth within the kindergarten to grade 12 age range.
