About Giulia
Hello and welcome! I'm Giulia Baronovscki Leshem, I’ve been teaching piano both online and in person for over 11 years. I love connecting to my students in a way that motivates and inspires them to reach their goals and even surprise themselves. I used to live on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean Sea, working as a pianist while visiting Greece, Malta, Spain, Morocco, France, Italy and Portugal. I’m a polyglot teacher, besides English I speak a few other languages like Italian, Hebrew and Portuguese. I hold a bachelor's degree from University of Washington (Seattle-WA). I’ve been performing in many cultural centers around the world and attended masterclasses with Zeynep Ucbasaran (Turkey), Tord Gustavsen (Norway), Ranko Markovic (Austria), Christian Leotta (Italy), Solungga Liu (USA), etc.

Deadly! Giulia is extremely patient, helpful, kind, and an amazing teacher!! She makes playing piano fun and makes learning it very manageable! I was feeling a bit nervous as an adult learning online, but it’s extremely convenient and Giulia is a pro teaching in this format! I highly recommend her!
Deadly! My daughter had a longtime piano and vocal coach that just got too busy to continue lessons. We found someone else to teach my daughter but it wasn’t the best fit. So I thought about how else we could continue with her learning piano. I was not sure how it was all go work out, online teaching that is.. Once we got going I definitely felt more comfortable and I felt my daughter got a more out of her first online lesson with Giulia than she did with the in person coach we had been going with. Giulia laid out a schedule and we are ready to continue and I think my daughter is going to enjoy this more.

Deadly! I wasn't sure how remote lessons would work, but Giulia was great! It was almost like being in the same room. She was organized, very positive, and did a great job of explaining musical concepts and piano technique. I told her I liked nostalgic video game songs and she found a Zelda song for our first lesson. I'm really looking forward continuing lessons with her!

I had lots of fun and made a ton of progress from just one hour of an introductory lesson… We started off with scales so that I could have a better understanding of music structure and then started playing so that I could learn about theory from the songs that I like. Would highly recommend!

Giulia provides a very well rounded level of instruction with relevant background and theory along with the expected practical application. She is great with younger and older age groups. I can tell that my daughters have accelerated in their piano level in a short time with her!
Giulia is a wonderful piano teacher. She is really helping me cover the lagunas I have in my study of music. I studied piano as a child and through my teenage years and never learned some essential elements of music theory such as the circle of fifths and its importance in playing music. She has brought to my attention aspects of playing the piano that I never thought of. For example, she pointed out that the left hand in piano is not played at the same volume as the right hand because the right hand usually carries the melody. That makes so much sense! She went on to explain that piano pieces are like songs that have parts with phrases were you raise your tone or lower it and take breaths as if you were singing and, furthermore, that you can mark the places in a piece where a phrase starts and ends and another one starts. This I would do intuitively but I didn’t know how to articulate that or that that is precisely how one studies a piece of music! She plays piano beautifully and has an excellent background in classical music. She is also very enthusiastic and supportive of my piano playing and is very organized in structuring my guiding my practice time weekly.
I truly enjoy her patient teaching style, clear guidance, and ability to inspire.
Absolutely the best music teacher ever! My son struggled with understanding music theory, but Giulia came to the rescue. She patiently explained the concepts, little by little, until the impossible happened: he understood music theory! Giulia is not only an amazing teacher but also an amazing person. Giulia is an awesome piano teacher that can take you to the next level. When I started with her I was at intermediate level and with her guidance I could play some great pieces by Chopin/Rachmaninoff/Beethoven and the list goes on. We are having lessons for 4 years now.

Her studio is very impressive and you can clearly see she invests in the tools she uses for teaching (the camera stands, programs, etc…)

Giulia is the best private tutor I ever had! I never thought I had any musical abilities in me but within no time Mrs. Leshem had me playing my favorite Beethoven sonatas on piano.
