About Lora
My love of English, Literature and Creative Writing has given me so much pleasure during my life that I would love to share and inspire others! I graduated with a BS (Hons) in English Literature from Bath Spa University in 2015 and enjoyed every single second of my undergraduate studies- If I can bring even an inch on this enjoyment for the subject into someone else’s life then my job here is done!
I worked as a Copy Editor for a couple of years following my graduation, so I have a great eye for detail and the creation of professional and successful writing. This position was with a Children’s book publisher, so I was granted a great insight into Early Year’s reading and curriculum. I gave up this job to concentrate on my family and return to education and have recently completed a qualification in Copywriting. I am also about to undertake a TEFL qualification so that my teaching experience can grow further.
I have tutored many younger children during my time at University, focusing primarily on literary texts used in KS3 and Creative Writing for undergraduate students. I was honoured to see some impressive results from my time with these students and have chosen to pursue this love of tutoring further.
I am a mum to two wonderful children who are in KS1 and KS3, so I have patience, enthusiasm and an understanding of current events (they keep me young!)
I am very positive, very upbeat and believe that the best way to learn is though enjoyment! I work hard, am always keen to listen and always take individual circumstances into consideration.

I tutor English, English Literature and Creative writing to all ages of students (even adult learners). I will initially assess the objectives and expected results of the lessons from the students/families before collaboratively outlining a ‘lesson plan’. I am flexible to each student’s needs/levels and will work at their own pace. I will try and use interesting and exciting methods of teaching, such as analysing current music to look at rhythm, tone and language in poetry, for example.
I’m laid back but supportive, and will only ever encourage my students.
