Deadly! I just finished my first lesson with Karan, and it was fantastic from start to finish. He is incredibly intelligent and clearly has a deep mastery of the game, but what really stood out was how personable and approachable he is. He made me feel completely comfortable right away.
Karan has a real gift for teaching. He took complex chess concepts and broke them down in a way that was easy to understand, even for someone still building their foundation. Every explanation was clear, patient, and practical — I left the session actually getting things that used to confuse me.
On top of that, he was very encouraging the entire time. He celebrated the good moves, gently guided me through the improvements, and kept the energy positive and motivating. It made the lesson fun instead of intimidating.
If you’re looking for a coach who combines sharp chess knowledge with excellent teaching skills and genuine support, Karan is the real deal. I’m already looking forward to the next lesson!

Deadly! I've tried learning chess from a few different coaches, but Karan stands out, he explains every move with a clear reason. Deadly! I've tried a few chess tutors on superprof and Karan was definitley the best! He is very good at the game and is able to identify and explain problems with positions and what attacking ideas should be considered.

Deadly! Karan is a great chess tutor. He explains ideas clearly and breaks down positions in a way that is easy to understand, even when the concepts are complex.

Deadly! After one month with Karan, I can definitely say that I have improved. I started around 1100 in rapid and just hit 1300 today on chess.com. From the first class, after playing a few games together he could tell where I struggled and explained in very great detail exactly how I could have improved my position. We have worked on a bunch of puzzles in our classes, where we dive into key fundamentals, concepts, strategies and (my most needed) endgames. We would also review games I played where I would win or lose, and we would go over how I could have played better or what I missed. I can definitely say that Karan is very thorough with his explanations which was the reason I chose him. I am aiming for 1500 by the end of the year, but I can definitely see myself go a lot higher at this rate!

Deadly! This instructor has been a great fit for me. He’s patient, explains ideas in a way that actually makes sense, and doesn’t make you feel rushed or judged.
