About Charlotte
I bring years of experience working with kids, along with a deep passion for teaching English and writing. My time as a swim instructor, surf coach, and after-school supervisor has taught me how to foster trust, encourage growth, and make learning an enjoyable experience for kids of all ages. As a USC Annenberg PR and Journalism major, I’ve honed my skills through writing scripts, articles, and product descriptions. I use this expertise to help students see writing as more than just an assignment—it’s a tool for creativity and self-expression. My lessons are interactive and tailored to each student’s needs. Together, we work on editing passages, improving grammar, and refining their own writing, all while reinforcing the why behind each correction. Whether your child is strengthening basic skills or tackling advanced assignments, I’m here to guide them with patience and professionalism, helping them feel confident and capable every step of the way.

My tutoring style focuses on making English and writing fun, engaging, and approachable. I work side-by-side with students, editing passages together and showing them how to improve their work step by step. A typical lesson starts with a passage that needs edits—we’ll work through it, talk about why each change is important, and then move on to something they’ve written. Whether it’s a homework assignment or a creative piece, we’ll edit it as a team. For students who find reading aloud challenging, we’ll practice together, and I always bring in fresh materials to keep things exciting and fun.
What sets me apart is my experience working with kids as a lifeguard, surf and swim instructor, and after-school supervisor. I also bring my background as a USC Annenberg PR and Journalism major, along with professional experience writing scripts, product descriptions, and articles. I love showing students how writing skills can make a big difference in their lives.
These lessons are tailored for kids of all ages, up to high school seniors, and I adjust each session to fit their unique needs. Let’s make English something your child feels confident and excited about!
