About Marcella
I'm a Graduate student at Vanderbilt University here in Nashville, TN. While I pursue my studies, I also work as a Teaching Assistant for an undergraduate class at the University, and just got invited back for a third year. I primarily work with helping students write essays, proofread their work, and I encourage critical thinking as well as great grammar, spelling, and helping students create an overall cohesive essay structure and format.

Hey, future student! My main goal during our sessions is to not only help you with your current project/task(s), but to help you be more confident if similar ones arise in the future as well. During our first meeting together, I'll help you break down what we will be working on into manageable pieces, come up with an end goal and our timeline to reach our goal, and listen to what you're struggling with most so I can help in every possible way. Every individual is different - learning style, problems they have, unique obstacles making them stressed - and my experience as a TA has first and foremost taught me to be flexible, understanding, and to think outside of the box. I will not come to the first meeting with a set of rules and requests! Not only will that make things more stressful for you, but it also works better when I come equipped with my skill set and experience and figure out how I can best use the tools I have to help you solve the problem you're facing in a way that works best for YOU. I traditionally work with undergraduate students, but I also have experience working with high school students and even older adults.
