About Louise
I am an enthusiastic Saxophone tutor with 6 years of teaching experience, and I have successfully taught around 150 students at all learning levels. I believe music learning should be enjoyable while maintaining strong discipline.
My teaching approach balances enjoyment and discipline. I guide students through proper posture, breathing, tone development, finger technique, and rhythm accuracy, while keeping lessons engaging and positive.
I include exercises, song learning, listening activities, and regular revision to strengthen understanding. Students are encouraged to practise consistently without feeling stressed.
What makes my teaching unique is my ability to keep students disciplined yet motivated. My goal is to help students grow into confident, skilled saxophone players who enjoy their musical journey.

I follow a student-focused methodology for saxophone that emphasises flexibility, collaboration, and encouragement. I recognise that each student learns differently, so I adapt lessons to their individual learning style, pace, and goals, making sessions both enjoyable and effective.
Flexibility ensures lessons evolve with the student’s progress, motivation, and interests, keeping learning engaging and productive. Collaboration is essential: students are encouraged to experiment with improvisation, share ideas, and actively participate in shaping their lessons, fostering both creativity and technical skill.
I cultivate a positive and supportive environment where mistakes are embraced as opportunities for growth and achievements are celebrated. Lessons cover saxophone technique, musical expression, improvisation, performance skills, and theory, providing a well-rounded musical education.
Beyond saxophone, I teach music theory, ensemble performance, sight-reading, and ear training. My goal is to nurture confident, expressive, and versatile musicians.
