About Shelby
Having been a teacher for so long, I have taught a variety of classes to include: college level Composition and Public Oral Communication, high school English 9, English 11, speech, and AP Language and Composition, and middle school 7th and 8th grade ELA. I have developed the curriculum from the ground up for each of these and continually reassess my lessons to make sure I'm providing the highest quality content for my students and meeting each of their needs. I have a Bachelor of Science in English Education as well as a Master of Arts in English.

My passion for teaching has not diminished after over a decade in the field of education. My time in teaching has taught me many things such as the importance of collaboration and leadership. I have also leaned into my desire to provide fair and equitable education to students. I accomplish this through accommodations, differentiation of my instruction, materials, activities and assessments, prioritized feedback, and diversifying my content to meet the needs of my students. I want students to leave my classroom with usable and transferable knowledge and skills.
