About Brooke
As a violin tutor with more than 7 years of experience, I specialize in early childhood music education. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Historical Performance (Baroque Violin), which informs my teaching style. My approach focuses on expressive playing and strong listening skills. I am passionate about guiding children through their first musical experiences.
I place a strong emphasis on developing aural skills from the very beginning. Children learn to recognize pitch, rhythm, and patterns through listening and repetition. I believe that a well-trained ear builds confident and independent musicians. This foundation supports all future musical learning.
In lessons, I use storytelling, rhythm games, and movement to keep children engaged. These activities make learning feel natural and enjoyable. Simple melodies are introduced to encourage imitation and musical memory. Children learn through play without feeling pressured.
Drawing from Suzuki and Kodály-inspired methods, I encourage singing and active listening. My lessons are supportive, creative, and structured. I aim to nurture both skill and enjoyment in every child. Together, we make violin learning fun, imaginative, and full of joy.

My teaching method combines strong technique with musical expression. I help students feel comfortable and confident with their violin. Vibrato development is an important part of my teaching. I guide students to develop it in a natural and relaxed way.
We start by understanding the basic movement needed for vibrato. I help students find freedom in their hand and arm. Then we work on controlling the speed and width. This allows them to shape their sound clearly.
Listening is a big part of my lessons. Students learn how vibrato changes the feeling of the music. We apply it to simple melodies first. Then we use it in expressive phrasing.
I create a supportive space where students feel confident to explore. I give clear and helpful feedback every step of the way. This helps them improve steadily. My goal is to help them play with emotion, control, and confidence.
