About Courtney
I am a violin tutor with 6 years of experience and a Doctor of Philosophy in Violin Performance. I enjoy helping students grow into confident musicians through patient instruction and carefully planned lessons.
My teaching approach focuses on building strong fundamentals while encouraging creativity and personal musical expression. I adapt every lesson to match the student's pace so learning remains enjoyable and rewarding.
Outside teaching, I enjoy performing chamber music, researching string techniques, and exploring music from different cultures. These experiences help me bring fresh perspectives and practical performance knowledge into every class.

My violin lessons help students build excellent technique while making learning enjoyable and motivating. We focus on posture, bow control, finger placement, rhythm, intonation, scales, tone production, string crossings, and musical phrasing through structured exercises and engaging pieces. Every lesson creates a supportive environment where students can improve with confidence.
As students continue developing, we practice shifting, vibrato, sight reading, ensemble skills, performance preparation, ear training, musical interpretation, and effective practice routines. I provide personalized support that helps learners overcome challenges while becoming expressive and technically secure violinists.
My goal is to help students perform with confidence, precision, and genuine musical expression. Every lesson develops artistic ability, technical strength, and a lasting appreciation for violin music.
