About Tova

I hold a PhD in Performance Practice and have 10 years of experience teaching violin. My musical journey began with classical training and years of performance experience, which inspired me to help others develop their own musical abilities. Teaching allows me to combine my love for music with my passion for education.

My teaching philosophy centers on encouragement, structure, and adaptability. Every student brings different strengths and learning preferences, so I adjust lessons to fit individual needs. Through technical instruction, musical exploration, and supportive coaching, I help learners build both confidence and skill. Watching students overcome challenges is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.

Outside tutoring, I enjoy attending concerts, studying historical performance techniques, and exploring new repertoire. These interests keep my musical perspective fresh and allow me to bring new ideas into lessons. Teaching violin gives me the opportunity to inspire creativity and discipline in students. Their progress and achievements continue to motivate me.

About the lesson

My violin lessons focus on helping students develop reliable technique while enjoying the artistic side of music. We explore bowing control, left-hand coordination, tone quality, rhythm training, scales, sight-reading, and musical phrasing through structured learning activities. I believe students progress best when technical skills are connected to meaningful musical expression. This helps learners build confidence while creating a strong foundation for future growth.

Each lesson is designed around the student's experience level and goals. Beginners learn posture, instrument care, simple melodies, and essential techniques that establish good habits. Intermediate students improve intonation, coordination, and expressive playing. Advanced learners work on performance preparation, stylistic interpretation, and technical refinement. Consistent feedback and personalized guidance help students continue improving steadily.

I aim to create a calm and encouraging learning environment where students feel motivated to practice and grow. Challenges are approached with patience and practical solutions. As learners gain skills, they become more confident in their abilities and performances. My goal is to help students develop a lifelong appreciation for music and violin playing.
