About Rudolf
I am both an experienced teacher and international professional concert performer specialising in baroque violin. I play regularly with orchestras such as the Hanover Band in the UK (including a Royal Gala at
Buckingham Palace), Talenti Vulcanici in Italy, who I recently recorded a CD with for ArcanaOuthere Music which was released in April 2019.
I have been teaching violin to private students since 2012. This has involved giving one-to-one lessons to students aged from five to thirty years in Germany, Hungary, and the UK. I currently teach at the Windsor
Music in London, giving one-to-one lessons to beginner and advanced students and preparing them for their grade exams.
In the academic year 2016-2017 I have completed a course in music pedagogy for the MA in Music Performance at The University of Southampton. The course required me to give individual lessons for young
string players in local schools around the Southampton area. I completed the pedagogy course with the highest grade. I have benefitted from being taught by, and having had master-classes with, a wide range of
eminent violinists across Europe. These include Caroline Balding, Simon Standage, Christoph Timpe, Emiliano Moreno, Sigiswald Kujiken, Jorge Jimenez, and Susanne Scholz. My experience with master-players and my professional work alongside colleagues in eminent ensembles has made me aware of a wide range of techniques that suit individual players. It has given me a strong belief in the need to address students individually to achieve the best results and ensure that they enjoy their playing and progress. For this reason, I
also feel strongly about students engaging in their playing practice, not only musically but physically.

One of the most important aspects of my methodology of violin teaching is to ensure that students are
instructed and helped to adopt healthy postures whilst playing. These habits need to be instilled early in
order to avoid muscle strains, tensions and later damage, so that students can play comfortably and healthily,
and enjoy making music. As part of this aspect of my teaching I also use exercises with elements of the
Alexander Technique, yoga and various breathing techniques I am able to prepare student concerts and to
ready students for auditions
