About Marie

Hi, I'm Marie — a VIT-registered teacher with 8 years of international classroom experience across Ireland, the UAE, and Australia. I've taught Science from primary level right through to senior secondary, alongside general primary subjects, in schools using a range of curricula and EdTech platforms (Stile, Compass, Canva, Seesaw).

I'm Irish, currently based in Melbourne, and bring an energetic, down-to-earth approach to lessons — I want students to actually enjoy the subject, not just get through it. Whether it's helping a Year 9 student finally understand chemical reactions or supporting a Year 3 student building confidence with reading and math, I tailor each lesson to how that particular kid learns best.

I'm comfortable working with students who are behind, students who are ahead and need stretching, and everyone in between.

About the lesson

I keep lessons structured but flexible: a quick check-in on what's working and what isn't, focused practice on the trickiest concepts, and plenty of real-world examples to make abstract ideas click (especially in Science). For younger primary students, I build in variety and short bursts of focus to keep things engaging; for secondary students, we work more directly toward specific outcomes — assessments, exams, or just rebuilding confidence in a subject they've fallen behind in.

I'm happy to align with whatever the student is currently covering at school, or work through a separate program if a parent prefers a different approach.
