About Robert

"My name is Rob McClurg, and I’ve spent over 30 years at the intersection of extreme vocal power and technical precision. My journey was forged under the mentorship of 'American Metal Legend' Tim Aymar (Control Denied) and James Murphy (Death, Disincarnate, Testament).
Due to an incurable cancer (ATLL), & Temporal Lobe Epilepsy, I spend my time teaching, writing new meditations & performing LIVE occasionally.

Today, I bridge the gap between world-class performance and neurological wellness. As a Certified Sound Healing and Brain Health practitioner (ALLEGRA Learning Solutions), I specialize in helping vocalists find maximum power through Neuro-Vocal grounding. Whether I'm writing with my band, Consumed X Chemistry, or working with students in Vancouver and online, my mission is to reinvigorate the human spirit through the safe, anatomical mastery of sound."

Advanced Professional Certifications:

Certified in Music Therapy and Sound Healing (ALLEGRA Learning Solutions): Specialized training in the clinical application of frequency and vibration. This expertise focuses on Nervous System Regulation, using acoustic resonance to reduce cortisol and improve the body's natural "entrainment" to healing frequencies.

Certified in Brain Health & Neuroplasticity (ALLEGRA Learning Solutions): In-depth study of the brain’s ability to reorganize itself. I apply these principles to vocal coaching to improve Motor Learning and Neurological Grounding, helping students overcome performance anxiety and cognitive blocks through sound.

About the lesson

"I don't just teach you how to 'sing cool songs.' I teach you how to master your instrument with zero risk of damage. My sessions are built on a foundation of Speech Level Singing (SLS) and vocal anatomy, adapted for the extreme demands of false chord, fry screaming, grunge, and operatic 'Dirty' soprano.

In our sessions, we will focus on:

Anatomical Safety: Using SLS to ensure correct technique with no permanent damage to the vocal folds.

Acoustic Grounding: Incorporating my certifications in Brain Health and Music Therapy to calibrate your resonance for maximum control and nervous system regulation.

Extreme Control: Deconstructing vocal fry and operatic power to give you 'Maximum Power & Control' across all genres."

Deadly! Right from the get-go, Mr Robert has my singing lessons planned out. I requested an unconventional start with learning somatic singing for myself to help me calm my nervous system as I unpack my entire childhood trauma for my mental health therapy. Also, to teach me to keep a neutral tone in any space I enter with sharper mind for quick decision-making and planning to cope ahead better as I struggle with executive functioning.

I could keep going on and on, but I’m on the third lesson and this has helped me rebuild the authentic me I have been wanting all my life.
