About Elia

My teaching approach centers on rhythm as the foundation of expressive and confident singing. I use rhythm-based techniques to help students improve timing, energy, and groove, making their performances feel alive and connected. Rhythm is not just about counting beats—it’s about feeling music in your body and letting it guide your voice.

We work with concepts like syncopation, beat subdivision, and rhythmic phrasing across genres such as gospel, funk, and jazz. These tools help singers understand how rhythm shapes phrasing, dynamics, and emotional impact. I incorporate exercises that combine clapping, stepping, and vocal improvisation to strengthen internal timing and musical awareness.

For students who learn best through movement or instinct, I create activities that let them explore rhythm freely. Some respond naturally through swaying, dancing, or moving to the beat, while others connect through expressive improvisation or emotional release. I guide each student to find their own way of feeling rhythm, making learning intuitive and fun.

About the lesson

I’m a singer, songwriter, and vocal coach with over 8 years of experience and an Advanced Diploma in Singing. I work closely with singer-songwriters who want to refine their craft and bring their musical ideas to life. My lessons focus on helping you connect deeply with your voice while developing a sound that is uniquely yours.

We explore vocal phrasing to enhance expression and emotional flow, and I guide you through lyric editing to make your words clear, compelling, and impactful. I also teach harmony layering techniques to add depth and texture to your songs. For those recording at home, I provide practical tips to achieve professional-sounding vocal takes in a home studio setting.

I enjoy working across genres like Indie Folk, Electro-Pop, Acoustic Soul, and Lo-Fi, tailoring each session to your style and goals. My approach emphasizes creativity, authenticity, and experimentation, helping you shape original music that truly reflects who you are. Together, we focus on making your ideas sing and connecting them to your unique voice.
