About Megan
I began my journey into teaching in 2009 when I entered the teacher education program at West Virginia University. While earning my B.A. in English and M.A. in Secondary Education, I discovered my love for tutoring and mentoring young writers—volunteering with the Mountaineer Boys & Girls Club and the West Virginia Young Writers' Holiday, a camp supporting gifted youth.
Since 2012, I have taught English for grades 9–12 in North Carolina and Colorado, helping students strengthen their writing, master grammar, and prepare for the SAT. Along the way, I have been honored with multiple awards, including a recent nomination as a Jeffco Talented Teacher, and I've even been recognized as Teacher of the Year.
Currently, I work as a high school Instructional Coach, partnering with teachers to ensure instruction is effective, engaging, and equitable. Bringing that same dedication and warmth to my tutoring sessions, I strive to help students grow both academically and confidently, making learning meaningful and enjoyable!

I've spent the last 16 years supporting students of all ages, but the heart of my work lies in teaching and tutoring high school aged humans how to read and write effectively and confidently. When working with me, you'll receive a balance of direct instruction, strategies for learning and memorizing, and opportunities to practice again and again... and again. I strongly believe that real learning happens through doing. I show up every day with a genuine joy for learning and experiencing success alongside my students. I create spaces for risk-taking, resilience, and high expectations for growth.
