About Wendy

Hello, I am Wendy. My Chinese name is Wú Xiǎoqiàn. Many people who see my name for the first time will call me Wú Xiǎoxī. In fact, both qiàn and xī are fine, because the third character is a polyphonic character, and it has two pronunciations. I come from Chengdu, Sichuan. There are pandas, hot pot, mahjong, tea houses and many other things that foreign friends are interested in. I love to travel. I have been to many different cities, and enjoy communicating with people from different cultural backgrounds. My mother tongue is Chinese, I hold a certificate in Mandarin, I can speak English, and also have an international Chinese teacher certificate issued by the Confucius Institute Headquarters, at present, I have two years of online teaching experience. I have taught students of different ages and levels. I can provide you with HSK, YCT, spoken Chinese, and travel Chinese courses. In the process of teaching, I summed up a set of teaching methods of my own.

About the lesson

For students with zero basic knowledge, I have made a special set of pronunciation tutorials, combined with daily oral conversations, to enable you to easily master basic spoken sentence patterns in a short time. For students who have a certain foundation in Chinese, I will analyze and customize courseware for you based on your interests and learning needs to ensure that every sentence you learn is practical. Most importantly, I will send the note to you after every class which will make it easier for you to review better and improve learning efficiency.
In my class, you don’t have to worry, I am very patient in teaching, I hope our class is full of fun, so I will pay special attention to your hobbies and encourage everyone to talk about topics they like to improve their Chinese communication skills, Let everyone speak Chinese more confidently!

Deadly! Wendy exceeded my expectations. She is not somebody that can just speak Chinese and English and tells you how to say sentences in Chinese. She reminds me of old school values when it comes to teaching. She is always punctual, very prepared and is very structured in how she teaches, which assists a great deal in ensuring progress actually takes place from one lesson to the next. Being her student I can say that I walk away from every lesson feeling like it's been worthwhile. I can highly recommend her if you are serious about learning Mandarin Chinese.
