About Toby

One of the things I love about teaching is getting to know and build a relationship with you. I value honesty and humility so let’s share somethings about me. I grew up on the island (Isle of Sheppey) so I spent a lot of time down the town trying to find things to do to keep me entertained. I decided from a young age that I wanted to be the first in my family to get a degree - so I did it! And now I am using my time to encourage others that you can learn when someone shows you how. I just moved back from living in New York City for 2 years which has become a huge part of my life. Beyoncé’s a guilty pleasure of mine but I have many different interests that I can’t name them all here. I love cooking, music (I’m a musician at times), gaming (again sometimes) and arts and crafts. Here is just a snapshot but I can’t wait to get to you know you more!

About the lesson

Hey! A holistic view is always important. This way, we can make sure that we make the most out of our sessions. After the first session (which is always free!), I will write up a learning plan so we can see our goals. We also have a first session free to get to know each other and see if I am the right match. My approach to learning is centred around problem-solving learning to achieve our goals through personalised pedagogical approaches. In other words, let’s reach our goals by learning through what works for your child. Tutoring can be for any subject in the Primary curriculum specialising in these subjects and more: Maths Writing, Reading, Spelling Music Any other curriculum subject! I also offer tutoring for secondary school age students in: Maths English Lit/Lang Music Biology, Chemistry and Physics And other subjects. Please book a 1st free session to discuss any other subjects including adult education such as functional skills, post-16 and any other. Again, 1st is free so book an appointment to see how we can help. I am flexible with my time and location which can be discussed in our planning session.
