About Willow
I discovered my passion for French during my Master of Arts in French studies and have taught it for 11 years. I helped a beginner progress from basic greetings to full conversations within a year. A young learner who disliked grammar drills became engaged once we added role-play activities.
I worked with a professional who needed French for client calls and we practiced real scenarios. I focus on building strong fundamentals before moving to advanced topics. My goal is always to make French feel approachable rather than intimidating.
I believe learning French should feel practical and connected to real life. Patience and encouragement are central to how I teach every student. I enjoy watching students go from hesitant to confident with steady practice.

Students preparing for study abroad get extra practice with everyday dialogues. Speaking confidence grows through low pressure conversation practice each week. Cultural notes about France and francophone countries are shared throughout lessons.
Writing exercises build gradually from short notes to full paragraphs. Pronunciation improves through repetition, recordings and gentle correction. For DELF and DALF preparation, we practice past exam questions regularly.
Role play scenarios help students rehearse real situations like shopping or travel. Business French sessions cover emails, phone calls and workplace vocabulary. I always end lessons with a short summary of what was covered.
Grammar points are introduced through examples before any formal explanation. Listening practice includes French songs, interviews and short news clips. Reading practice uses simple texts that match each student's current level.
Vocabulary is grouped by themes such as daily routines and travel. Lessons often open with light conversation to get students speaking right away.
