About Melanie
Hello! My name is Melanie Rohena, and I’m a passionate and dedicated educator with a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas State University and a TEFL certification from the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE). I have a strong foundation in both academic tutoring and behavioral support, with experience working with children of all abilities, including those with ADHD, ASD, and developmental disorders. Throughout my career, I’ve developed a teaching approach that is both compassionate and results-driven. I understand the importance of building trust and rapport with my students, which is why I tailor each lesson to suit their unique learning style and goals. Whether it’s supporting language development, helping with academic challenges, or teaching effective study habits, I am committed to helping every student succeed. I bring experience in diverse environments, including working as a Behavioral Technician and providing bilingual support in both English and Spanish. This allows me to connect with a wide range of students and create an inclusive, positive learning experience. Teaching Method: I adapt my methods to the student's learning style, using clear explanations, visual aids, and hands-on practice. For students with limited English proficiency, I provide targeted language support, focusing on communication and pronunciation. Typical Lesson Plan: Each lesson starts with a brief review of prior material, followed by the introduction of new concepts using interactive practice. We conclude with a summary and independent practice to reinforce learning, with space for student feedback. What Sets Me Apart: My experience working with diverse students, including those with ADHD, ASD, and language barriers, allows me to create tailored strategies that keep students motivated and engaged. I’m also bilingual in English and Spanish, making learning more accessible for diverse learners. Who My Lessons Are For: I work with students at the beginner level, mainly children, who need support as they begin their English learning journeys, to adolescents at the intermediate level.
