With over 10 years of experience working as a professional dancer, performer, and choreographer in the entertainment industry, I’m thrilled to teach dance fundamentals and expression to all levels.

About Johanna
I began my professional dance journey in 2012 when I was accepted into a hip hop dance company in San Francisco. In 2014 I then moved to Los Angeles where I was accepted into another hip hop dance company and signed with a dance agency. While in Los Angeles, I worked with clients such as Cirque Du Soleil, Warner Bro., Fox Entertainment, Universal Studios, DanceOn Network, and Samsung. I performed for artists such as Skrillex, Stafford Brothers, Wayne Brady, Banks, Redfoo and more. In 2020, I moved to Hawaii and currently work as a producer and choreographer for a dance collective on the island.
My range of experience includes live shows, music videos, film & television, and dance concepts. I also have my BFA in Film Production and direct my own performance and visual art brand. I incorporate movement, fashion, photography and film into each production.

My approach to lessons is by going at the pace of my students comfortability. We cover the basics such as learning and retaining choreography, rhythm and groove, core activation, posture, and free-styling. Along with the fundamentals, we focus a great portion on self expression and finding your own style of movement, which is a principal I firmly believe is essential to gaining a personal sense of presence as a dancer. Curriculum with confidence! Above all, I want to provide a safe space for each student to be authentic and to have fun, because dance should be, at its root, FUN!
