About Tessa
I am a guitar tutor with over 12 years of experience teaching students with learning differences such as ADHD, dyslexia, and anxiety. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music (Guitar) and have a strong background in music therapy and special education. My teaching approach is adaptive and strengths-based, focusing on each student’s unique abilities and learning style. I design lessons that are flexible, supportive, and tailored to help students build confidence and enjoy playing guitar. Whether students are beginners or advanced, I create a safe space where they can express themselves and develop their musical skills at their own pace. My goal is to help every learner find success through music, fostering creativity and resilience along the way. I believe that with the right guidance, every student can overcome challenges and reach their full potential. Together, we’ll work on not only technique but also self-belief, making music a positive and empowering part of your life.

My teaching method focuses on building strong technical skills while nurturing each student’s unique style. I emphasize proper body posture to prevent injury and improve playing comfort. Mental preparation is key—I help students manage performance nerves and stay focused before auditions or recitals.
Finger independence and dexterity are developed through targeted exercises, enabling students to play complex rhythms and melodies smoothly. I support students who enjoy exploring creative styles and those who prefer structured learning, helping each one excel in their own way.
We work on stage readiness, practicing confidence, presence, and connecting with the audience. Lessons combine clear structure with flexibility, adapting to students’ moods and goals.
My goal is to help you master the guitar and enjoy every step of your musical journey. Together, we’ll build skills, confidence, and prepare you to shine on any stage.
