About Dahlia
I have taught guitar for 3 years, supported by a Bachelor of Music in Composition (Guitar Emphasis). Alongside tutoring, I stay active as a performer and composer. My teaching focuses on acoustic fingerstyle and classical guitar. I work with students of all levels and backgrounds. Beginners are introduced to fundamentals with care and encouragement. Advanced students are challenged with intricate arrangements and nuanced performance. I emphasise music as a creative lifelong skill. Lessons aim to balance technical precision and personal expression. Every student is guided to find their unique voice on the guitar. I value patience, curiosity, and creativity in the learning process. Lessons are interactive, supportive, and tailored to individual needs. My goal is to make guitar playing both disciplined and joyful. Together, we’ll explore the depth and beauty of music through the guitar.

My methodology focuses on connecting music theory to the guitar in practical ways. I teach scales, modes, chord construction, and harmonic analysis with hands-on examples. Lessons help students translate knowledge into fluent playing and creativity. The Aspiring Rock Star learns to improvise and compose riffs using theory. The Classical Purist explores interpretation and harmonic nuance. Exercises reinforce fretboard patterns and musical structures. Each session is tailored to the student’s level and musical goals. I emphasise understanding concepts rather than memorising them. Students develop confidence in both technical execution and musical expression. Theory becomes a tool for creating and understanding music. Lessons balance practice, exploration, and guided application. Students build a foundation for improvisation, composition, and performance. Together, we unlock both skill and artistry on the guitar.
