About Talia
I’m a French tutor with over 5 years of experience and a Graduate Certificate in French-English Translation. My teaching blends language instruction with a deep passion for environmental studies and sustainability. I design lessons that go beyond grammar and vocabulary, incorporating real-world topics like climate change, ecological challenges, and global sustainability efforts. Learners explore media and reports from Francophone environmental organizations to strengthen both comprehension and awareness. My teaching approach for French focuses on practical, engaging lessons that connect language to everyday life and culture. I place special emphasis on vocabulary related to fashion, clothing, and style. Students learn how to describe outfits, express personal style, and talk about trends in simple and confident French. I use visuals, real-life examples, and fashion magazines to make the sessions lively and relatable. Lessons are structured but flexible, giving learners space to explore and ask questions.
My method supports both Immigrants/Newcomers and Hobbyists in building fluency step by step. I help them feel comfortable speaking about what they see, wear, or like. Through short dialogues, listening practice, and easy writing tasks, students develop strong communication skills. They gain confidence using descriptive phrases, adjectives, and opinion statements. I also guide them in understanding how fashion reflects culture in different French-speaking regions.
Each session strengthens their ability to speak clearly and naturally about aesthetics. The focus is on useful, real-world language—not just textbook French. I’m committed to helping every student express their identity and interests in French. We’ll build both fluency and style, together.
